Meet The Drive Wealth Team

Reinventing investing requires a mastery of both the latest technologies and complex financial markets—past, present, and future. The DriveWealth team has decades of experience in both.

Having already started a number of successful businesses, such as Financial Labs and FX Solutions, founder and CEO Robert Cortright has recruited a dream team of technology and financial services heavy hitters to join him at DriveWealth. From former CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, and Managing Directors to young, smart talent, the DriveWealth team has both the experience and the enthusiasm to reinvent investing for all.

Chief Operating Officer

Gary Wiedman

As the Chief Operating Officer, Gary develops operations to be efficient, engaged, and a differentiator in our chosen space. This is done by controlling costs, investing in our people, and listening to our partners to find the best path to solve complex scenarios. At the same time, DriveWealth works to create and drive a culture that is representative of the values and goals the firm has identified as core to our success.

Gary attended Central Washington University majoring in Business Administration. He's accumulated over 30 years of experience in financial services operations. Gary held many senior roles throughout his career, advancing to managing director at Charles Schwab, then moving on to Director of Program Operations at Financial Engines. He was SVP of Operations at APEX Clearing before joining UBS Securities as an Executive Director. Finally, right before joining DriveWealth, Gary was the CEO of Sixteen Securities Inc.

What excites Gary about DriveWealth is balancing think fast/smart in a highly regulated industry. Many of the rules we historically operate under as a broker dealer are over 75 years old. It’s exciting to challenge the way things have been done for decades with a fresh perspective. Similarly, DriveWealth has intentionally sought service providers that do things differently, that share a similar set of values and have been able to execute to move the vision forward.

When not working, Gary loves spending time with his wife Alexandra and kids, Chloe & Ethan.
He also enjoys cooking TX BBQ, making sauce, construction projects, old VW’s, 80’s hair bands, puttering around the yard and of course being a necessary human to his basset hound, Oliver.
